Got moss?

I usually pay someone on eBay a ridiculous amount for 20 lbs of Spanish moss each year for my display decor.

So this year, I thought I would see if any of my fellow bloggers have a source for that lovely hanging Spanish moss?

I hear stories of people that rake it up by the bagfuls and throw it out.....wow, I could do that with that regular green spongy moss, clean several bags full off the roofs each year! Anyone wanna trade? :D

Any suggestions on where to find it besides eBay?

  2. Is that your graveyard? That is fantastic! We don't have that spooky moss in these parts but it sure is a wonderful effect! :) Becca

  3. Um, I live in an area where it's as common as wildflowers - I love seeing it flying from car antennas! I don't have any in my yard, but I'll look this weekend in some empty lots and see what the crop is like :)

  8. I live in Tampa, FL; my property is on a lake and is backed up to a state preserve. There is Spanish moss on every tree as far as the eye can see! I could ship you as much as you want. Just let me know how much you need and I will make it happen. :) You can contact me directly through my email
fullmoonindustries@yahoo.com and we can work out the logistics.

  14. My Dad owned Greenhouses and sold plants and cactus etc. to Walmarts and places like that. And I can remember going with him to the Ocala Nat'l Forest here in Florida to collect pinecones for his little garden containers and then we'd stop by someone's house and he'd buy huge bags of the moss to use in his arrangements. We have s little in our trees here, but we usually pull it down...ha! That was nice of Full Moon Industries...I need to go check them out and see what they do since they are so close by. And your moss sounds fab...I looked for that everywhere last year and couldn't find it.
