If we were sitting here having a glass of fantastic red wine.....

I would tell you.

I am done, I don't want to do this anymore.

Halloween.

This Halloween (commercial) thing.

I am done.

Done.

Done.

I have known that for a lot longer than I want to admit.

I have been fighting it, telling myself I can get a handle on this......as a stupid person would.

I am going back to my yard haunt (not really a haunt, technically, yeah, yeah, I know, I know.) and I do not care if the rest of the world does not care that we exist.........just making a yard, our own, that make us go.....damn!

I miss that.

Nothing I have done outside of that seems to make me anything........happy or money.

Besides....I hate politics....my own included. :D

I have not been as unhappy or stressed as I am "getting involved".

As ugly as it was, 12 years ago.

This used to be fun.

"fun, fun, fun" (in a sing-songy-voice)

I miss that.

  1. Sometimes going back to simple is the best decision ever.
I hope you find your Halloween fun again.

  2. Sometimes fun hobbies need to stay just that -- hobbies. Once they're turned into jobs or businesses, all the fun and joy can be sucked right out of them. Sorry to hear that's happened here, it seems.

  3. I totally understand. Sometimes involving more people (and ones you can't choose) in an already full life can suck the energy right out of you.

Sounds like you and Jeff need to come here for a visit. Did I mention that we have world-class wine tasting a half hour away? :)

  4. {{HUGS}} we won't think anything less of you if you choose to scale things back. Your early stuff was still amazing!

  6. Do what you really want to do. As much as you want to do. That's how you appreciate things, in the end.

  7. I couldn't agree with you anymore. If you take something that you really enjoy, then you want to make it bigger and still enjoy it, then start making it available for others cause you see they are enjoying it, then they want more and even bigger and something new each time.

Becomes not fun anymore. Tires you out.

Time to go back to the basics so you can get the happiness you had in the beginning.

  8. I know that feeling... Once a hobby is becoming an obligation, it is no more fun and feel like a boring job. I hope you find the fun in Halloween again soon. Do Halloween stuff for yourself again, not for the others.

  9. That's a HUGE part of why I stepped back a few years ago, luv. Why I've stayed out of a lot of things. It kind of feels like I'm saying, "I left the band when they sold out", but that's not quite the case. I couldn't leave the band- I love the music too much. But I had to step back. It got too big, too complicated, too commercial. *shrug* Let me know when you want to go home- I'll be there.
