I really don't want

an energy drink, but I am tired (cause I was up too late in his suite with all our friends), so I will take one anyway. Is what I am thinking as Leonard hands me a can of Screaming Zombie Energy Drink. Not bad, full of caffeine and sugar, just what every haunter needs :) So I am checking out the ingredients on the back of the can and I see that it is created by Steve Koontz.....can't be my friend Steve, could it? The phone number is 702 area code....that is Las Vegas. What are the chances of two Steve Koontz in Las Vegas? I am curious so I ask Tina (aka Mort). Her and Tim who are good friends with Steve also, if she knows anything about this. She mentions that Steve had sent her something about a new project he was up to, so that must be it. She looks at the can, sees what it is, and asks us if Tim had one? "Ah, I believe so." "Great" she says. I will later discover that Tim is hyper enough without an enrgy drink :) How odd, Steve Koontz, the same guy I was blo...

second place awards." My CEO reminds me when I try to complain about only winning second place awards this last round of marketing submissions. Oh, yeah. I guess you are right. I still like the first place awards better :) No worries, I have a whole new round of state awards submissions coming up in the next two weeks. Let's see if I can get a shinny first place award!!

Speaking of Rocky Point

I found a copy of the auction guide on the web and this YouTube video . It is amazing to see professional pictures of the haunt. I have to say it was one of the most beautiful haunts I have every seen. Still my all time favorite. I will always remember her email that she sent to us after we sent a thank you card when we visited her haunt. She said how much she appreciated us taking the time to say thanks...and how surprised she was that no one else had done the same. Another reason to always send a thank you note. That reminds me. I have to get mine out for this last Hauntcon !!!

I don't understand why

but almost every haunt I have ever visited (in four years of haunt conventions) appears to have one or both of these items that drive me crazy (yes, short trip, I know): Dot Room - You know the black room with all the colored dots and you have a person or two in there that have on a black suit with dots also. They stand very still and when you enter the room they move. Kinda creepy and disarming, the first 3 times you see the effect. I have seen: · the normal version (black walls with colored dots) · the 3D version - black wall colored dots (black lighting or 3D glasses) · the latest light version, lights in the walls and on the suit with black lighting in the room. Why so popular? Not sure, but as a group of haunters sitting on a bus after the tours we even talk about them, so the facination comes from somewhere! I have to say that each time I enter one, all I want to is get the hell out. They annoy me. I believe it is because they are so unoriginal. I know that many people LOVE them...

I don't think I will

ever catch up with all the blogs I missed when I was at Hauntcon . I apologize to anyone that is feeling ignored. It is not you, I am doing it to everyone :) Just when I thought I was just going to stay caught up and not read all the posts I missed, I come across an award from my lovely friend at Rabid Reflections . My very first blog award!!! I believe I have to pass it along to five other bloggers ......you have been warned :)

I keep forgetting

to post a link to our friends the Bishop's blog . We, as a rule, do not take many pictures at our Halloween party - unless they are early in the evening. You know, before all the drinking :) I do have to say that they got some great photos of our guests. Check it out when you get a chance.

Hauntcast Part 1

I just heard my podcast from Hauntcon on the latest Hauntcast !! I talk faaaaaaaaaaast when I am nervous :) Had a great time talking to Chris and even hooked him up with the legendary Leonard Pickel, editor of Haunted Attraction Magazine and the man who puts on Hauntcon . Chris is a kick to talk to - he made all my inane babble sound like I was making at least a bit of sense. Had a fun time chatting with him over the last weekend as we were trying to find the best time to call. He was genuinely surprised at how many people listen to his podcast. I told him we all love it. He mentioned that it had crossed his mind to censor it a bit, I told him no way! We love it! Don't change a thing! So that was part one. Part two is when Jeff and I both talk to him next week when we talk about the Davis Graveyard .
