It is not always how

Image
you create something.....it is the finished piece that matter most. I know that, I have been through enough experiences that it should be etched in my head.....but it is not. I still continue to try to project my way of doing things on a project, with the same usual disaster...... So this year we needed a video of a year long campaign (at work, for our Annual Meeting presentation) and I thought this would be a great opportunity to learn my new Adobe video editing software. I was thinking...how hard could it be? As usual, most of my problems started with me thinking..... :D I mean, Premiere is an Adobe product....I have been working with their stuff for...well, let me think....yeah, it was original owned by.....wow, I am old!! Let's just say "forever". I started playing in Premier and thought....how fun! This is the coolest program, so much better than that crap program "Pinnacle" that husband uses :D ......I will have this done in no time!!! This is going to be ...

If you want to get married

Image
in the graveyard on Halloween, the soonest we can get you in is now 2012! Can you believe this? We are booked for this Halloween and now we just got a wedding request for 2011? I am starting to feel a bit like a circus or amusement park.....I mean that in a good way :D

Here are the rest

Image
of the pictures that I have of the cemetery and church at Dairsie castle. The oldest marked graves in the cemetery are from the 16th century and although the church is abandoned (but locked tight....trust me) they still use the cemetery for local residents and long standing families. Here is the picture of the church from the back door of the castle. Anyone know what those table looking monuments are for? I am sure my UK followers do :) They are from the grave robbing days (Burke & Hare operated out of Edinburgh....not too far away LOL) this heavy slab on top of pillars made it nearly impossible to rob the grave. I have see my share of cemeteries and I have to say there were a lot of these that were still intact. In some cemeteries people have stolen them for decoration :( I hope there are ghosts haunting those people! :) The bell that used to be in this tower is in a museum in town. along with some of the better pieces of stained glass. Sadly when we were there you could see that ...

Besides the main video

that we submit to the Haunters Video and Haunt Form DVD collections, we also create a kind of "thank you" gift video collection, a recap of the year. This year husband has been working very hard not only on a video project for my work (thank you, thank you, hubby) but creating all the video shorts for the Davis Graveyard 2009 DVD. This year, despite a complete (planned) absence of TV footage, the DVD has more videos than ever. Whenever I think that we did not do much in the previous year, I just have to go through the "Halloween 2009" (whichever year we are working on) and just browse through the picture and videos. The 2009 video (when it is done) will include Official 2009 Davis Graveyard video ( a direct and quite shameless rip off of the original Frankenstein movie promo ) Building the spider (seriously creeping out the frog queen) Recycling an angel (out with the old and in with the French) Creating a new angel (does anyone remeber what version we are on?) Tomb...

When I drove up to

Image
the castle I knew it was the one I wanted to rent. Yes, it was lovelier and more modern (on the inside) than the other castle I had seen earlier that day, but that was not the reason....it was primarily the fact that literally in the front yard of Dairse Castle in the Fife region of Scotland (a 50 minutes north of Edinburgh) is a graveyard and a deconsecrated Catholic church. Is that not perfect? We decided to rent a castle and invite our friends and family (some that had attended our very small wedding) to join us to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We knew that this would likely be the only time that many of them would get to travel to the UK - so we thought we would make it extra special. :) Since I would be spending Halloween in Scotland that year (we lent our props to a local haunt) and not setting up (much) of the yard, this was the place to be! We confirmed our reservation on the spot, can you see why? More pictures to follow!

After I got

Image
the skull a new hat I thought that he might want to get tarted up a bit to go out on the town and asked if I can find him a pair of earrings :D He was a little disappointed to remember that he in fact, has no ears. So I guess I will have to keep them for myself....what a shame :D I know that it seems very logical that the frog queens favorite color would be black...but it is in fact, actually red. So I got myself some cool cherry red earrings from one of my fellow bloggers over Beryl Jewelry, she makes very creative and lovely pieces of shinny. So I am changing out my Etsy site to Beryl Jewelry. Check it out if you get a chance.
