Well, it is about time

that they aired the Nightmare Factory Extreme Home Makeover show.  Really, how long could we we go on NOT talking about it.

Seriously, really sucked - lots to share.

Anyway, saw the episode and I am sure if you did too, you did NOT see us or any of the crew or any of the helpers for that matter.

No surprise!

Rob Zombie was there.....far more interesting than us helpers!  (BTW - super nice guy to all us minions!)

If I was producing the show, I would have done the same thing! :D

It was a great experience and I have to say that I am honored to have been a part of it.

Hopefully now we can post Marci's pictures for all of you to see.  Until then, check out the ABC site for a sample of her photos.

We are very proud of her, she did a great job.

We are supposedly getting a "press kit" of footage that was not on the show and logos and stuff to put on the site.

It will likely arrive while we are on vacation....so we will all have to wait until December to see it.

Thanks everyone that donated to the cause - the school really apperciates it!

  3. Gah! Forgot to set this up to record!!! Arrrggh!

I have a friend who worked on a project for Extreme Home Makeover, and it was the same deal: they didn't show any of the folks who did the REAL work! Ty and all those folks showed up on the last day, and they filmed a bunch of footage that made it look like they were busting their butts like all the folks who really did. Eh, it's Hollyweird...what can ya do?

Glad to hear Mr. Zombie was cool. In fact, every peron I've ever known who has met him has always said he is really nice and approachable, which really earns my respect!

Heading over to ABC's site to see if they have the episode up to view!

  5. I cried it was so wonderful! Think its still on the DVR if someone can't find it. With hubby sick last week we will be hitting the haunt on Friday. Looking forward to it and I hope they get a lot of visitors this weekend too!

  6. We just watched it tonight in fact! Thanks again for giving the air date because we could not find where it said "Halloween" edition anywhere in the info or listings here. In fact, we DVR'd it, but still weren't sure it was a Halloween episode until we sat down to watch it tonight. If I hadn't seen the promo from the link on your blog about the 'Deaf School' I probably wouldn't have even watched what we recorded, because it said nothing on the info page or title about 'halloween'....weird.

But we did catch it thanks to your heads up, and it was great. I kept looking around to see if I could see you guys. I figured they had ya'll chained up in the basement somewhere working on those walls...ha!

It was a great episode. But I must say that the designer guy in charge of the haunted house is annoying as all get out, and I kept thinking that Rob Zombie MUST have found him as annoying as we all did since he had to work with him...ha! Congrats on being a part of something so fantastic. Loved seeing the smiles on those boys faces! :o)

  8. That show always makes me cry, but this one was especially touching - you all did a great job! Those kids were having a blast in their new haunt!

The brick walls looked really good and I was watching for glimpses of you all working on it, but am not surprised that I didn't see many workers - they did an episode in our town last summer that turned out the same way.

And I agree with Wendy that Rob Zombie had to have wanted to punch the designer in charge of the haunt - he couldn't have been more of a twit!

  9. Pictures are great! It's nice to take some time and see the different rooms. They went through them so fast on the program I wanted to yell at the tv to tell them to slow down so I can see the detail...and stop showing cheezy shots of the hosts when I have rusty pipes and rotten corpses to examine! ;)
