we can ask her how much fun it was to hand paint an abbey. Elyssa is doing a great job painting practically each stone in the abbey by hand......looks fantastic! FQ has the best friends!

    I sponged different shades of grey (Is there any other color besides black?) over the stones after they had already bee. n painted. This way it gives them a more varied look that is a little more true to the look of the abbey we are basing this off of. It is a lot of work...but I think it is worth it. The abbey looks more realistic and I get to play.

Going to the Chapel

...and we're gonna get..... no life during the summer. :) (We are almost done with the Chapel, in fact, if all goes well, most of it goes up tonight. But I have not been documenting it here.  So I am going to retrospectively show you through the chapel build.) After a few years of planning, we finally decided to sell the abbey and build a chapel. The plan is that this will be easier to put together than the abbey has been.  The abbey took an entire weekend, a scissor lift and an army of people to set up.  This new chapel should go up in a few hours. about awards, I am ready to pass on the cool new award I got from Geoff over at Enter the Man Cave. This award goes to all of you that comment frequently on this blog.
