I'm leaving....in a rental truck

About 10:30 on Saturday morning an empty yellow moving van pulled into the driveway.

It was here to take the old church facade to its new home in San Jose.

We packed it into the truck, panel by panel, and tied it into place for the long journey ahead.

By 11:30 the truck was pulling out of the driveway and it was gone.

We waved goodbye

and started working on the new abbey.....

  3. San Jose? That's where the Winchester Mystery House is, and they used to say they never stop building it- which sounds like Davis Graveyard, doesn't it? ;)

I love the photo of all of you waving goodbye.

  4. I promised myself I wouldn't... ... cry...
That Abbey taught me so much in such a short time... like how to swear in foriegn languages and that 5-7 creative men "can" all stand around with power tools and not know what to do... Oh then there was the time it scared the holy living bejeezus out of me... but I forgave it.
Maybe it is time for it to move on, maybe we've learned all we could from it... or maybe, just maybe, like a phoenix from the ashes, the Abbey's absences will produce a new structure with all new lessons for us to learn.

Naw, I'm just sticking with the learning new ways to swear.

  5. Can't wait to see the new abbey! The Captain hails for San Jose originally. Its a good Halloween town, the old church went to a good place.
